A lively, overcrowded and cheerful place to be in the summer, the home of the Luna Park during the winter time transforms into a desolated spot of closed rollercoasters, games, restaurants and boardwalk that seems neatly abandoned, where lonely characters go out for a quiet walk, some challenge the cold weather with a dive and the seagulls take over the clear beach. This on-going project started in January 2020 and explores who goes to Coney Island during the winter and documents its empty landscape. Until the warmer days arrive, Coney Island in the wintertime is a place of melancholy, longing and reminiscence.
