There were women, workers, retirees, students, lesbians, trans, transvestites; alone or with babies in arms. There were hetero and homosexual couples, men holding little boys and girls. There were people: of different social stratum and different skin color, of different ages, different sexual orientation, different culture, religion and political ideology. And we all marched in peace with the vindication of women as a standard. The green and violet handkerchiefs stained the avenue of Mayo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, more than in any other previous convocation, and -in spite of the different feminist branches- the mutual respect characterized the environment, full of shouts of anger for the recurrent injustices but also of celebrations and laughter for the simple fact of being UNITED. Let's continue fighting today and everyday for our rights, for gender equality, the end of femicides, sexist violence and patriarchy, for wage equity and many other things that we, women, still haven’t achieved.

Había mujeres, trabajadoras, jubiladas, estudiantes, lesbianas, trans, travestis; solas o con bebés en brazos. Había parejas hetero y homosexuales, hombres con nenes y nenas a upa o de la mano. Había gente, de distinto estrato social y distinto color de piel, de distintas edades, de distinta orientación sexual, distinta cultura, religión e ideología política. Y todos marchamos en paz con la reivindicación de la mujer como estandarte. Los pañuelos verdes y violetas tiñeron la avenida de Mayo más que en cualquier otra convocatoria anterior, y -a pesar de las diferentes ramas feministas- el respeto mutuo caracterizó el ambiente, cargado de gritos de bronca por las recurrentes injusticias pero también de festejos y risas por el simple hecho de estar UNIDAS. Sigamos luchando hoy y todos los días por nuestros derechos, por la igualdad de género, el fin de los femicidios, la violencia machista y el patriarcado, la equidad salarial y tantas otras cosas más que aún nos falta alcanzar.
